So this year i hope to build a steady and more solid bankroll.

Gl at the tablesRoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-83090763010510136892008-12-28T08:06:00.006+00:002008-12-28T08:23:30.126+00:00Trapped!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 242px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkaAa2GpnnjnLTjZ9h6DJqkYM76b2PUqiJ8onu-edu-hYjAqoihtoDmir2dTRMCjoBh8S6ocP_qioirvAm8IGAM82YuHqhQ1GCurfuLrlJPTgHlvgutwo_O2vL7xKc82qJgxAppCNqNIs/s320/MatrixCode.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284752485311639362" />
hi guys,
No more scheduled commitemnets as i seem to not be able to keep up the promises of having to do regular updates on this blog.

However no blog means no control over my game, so i have to keep the blog hence getting rid of it is not an option.

Since my last post, things had been on a weird roller coaster ride . This is mainly because I’ve been dossing around at $0.25 0.50 HU building a nice stack and taking a shot at higher tables with 1 or 2 buy-ins, effectively playing with scared money. Short boom-Bust cycles. For some reason I don’t register $100-$200 wins as success and treat it with disrespect only to lead to the inevitable bust scenario. Things need to change and I have to have a bit more structure to my approach. I need to realise the value of these cyber chips and have bit more respect for it.

In order for me to to realise this I have decided to cash out between £20-£50 per day and also keep building the bankroll. I have been succesfull before so why not again ? But playing higher is not the answer, not until at least I hit minimum 6 buy-ins of the level I want to take a shot at and be prepared to sacrifice 2 buy-ins at it. Then whether succesfull or not drop down to original stakes until (if succesfull) it sinks in. This however brings the problem of tilt monster. It has been quite for a while but I know it is there waiting to be released. I need to lock it away and lose the key forever…..thats if I want to have any decent success at this game over long period.

So I have cashed out £50 yesterdayand have a remaing roll of £140. 0.25 0.50 HU is where I can be seen for the time being. If any of you guys see me higher it means I am running well and have minimum of 6 buy-ins for that level im at.

Lastly thanx to the regular guys who have been commenting regardless of my lack of updates.
For those provocative anonymous ones though, well I can only laugh at your primitive intelligence. If owning me in a Hu game as claimed ( which I doubt very much, otherwise you would’ve left your name …) is such a highlight of your life then I take it as a compliment and strongly advise you to get a life and drop your ego.

Okay this time I really am back and wish you all good luck (unless u are playing against me)

Roll is at £140
Gl at the Tables

CallplsRoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-19379917180269087152008-07-19T11:40:00.004+01:002008-07-19T11:53:44.640+01:00HI EVERYBODY!!!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaRw6MeBZg27t6zMTtUOCgrygHY44OaU62buenZYsqOc2_4kNElvjC0xxVj4LKAJ1UsxjyR4gMtKoJXcW0Kbq9xvkQX8x8bhaiN6T9jstCn30TQ9CzvpeGPfVqUNN_sZUnnfTYBJWolFI/s320/im-back-baby.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224676363010598450" />
Considering how loyal my readers have been i think i owe an explanation of what i have been doing all this time...

As far as poker goes i have not spent nowhere near as much as i was spending time wise. ?I had the odd casual game but nothing special apart from switching 300 dollars into 2000 at fulltilt in one short session.

After the big bankroll build i had lost sense in value and it took time for me to readjust to smaller stakes. I think i am back to playing my A game at .25/.50 HU so i will update you guys more often.

Also last week i managed to switch 200 dollars into 900 but didn't think i was gonna commit myself to building again so i cashed it all out.

Sure there have also been times where i lost a few sessions costing me around £1K straight after my big cashout.

Currently i deposited 40 quid into Royalfire and i am now at 88 pounds. I will give regular updates but not sure how long it will take to build into 4 digit even 5 digit roll. Well at least in theory. The muppet that i am though, i managed to go through all of it in a relatively short time.

Was i unlucky? NO! i played like a complete umpty at limits no higher than $.5/$1 (heads up)and manage to dump it all on hands thats not even worth mentioning.

Then gave a break for a short period and revived "Callpls" account. Fortunately with a little respect to the game and a little luck behind managed to morph 160 quid into 520 quid.

So the decision is made and Callpls will try to be the hero on this months journey. Will it be a quick one? boring one? or exciting one like last month? only time will tell.

Currently the plan is to play $.5/$1 heads up until i drop down to $500 or build enough for me to take shots at $1/$2 (1800-$2000 should be enough )

Also i will try to keep the bankroll monster under control and try to tilt less. (was also one of the goals from may)

So the roll is now at 520 quid...

Gl at the tables

CallplsRoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-85565605336857108192008-06-03T23:58:00.003+01:002008-06-04T00:05:50.498+01:00Should've left at peak....<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOmswiU7tMlxDu1g7ODG8SeGRHHEwDp-yMAaScKmqpfI3VE2Kzo0IO8ybOBxcDxtWRfpfpdc9dyOP8VrYP_sV5JZoJAsHx5CYLo3hkVrZ8AUgVUTqh3s11Bt-kSOiSUu1G-pqQuxm-Izc/s320/boring!!!.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207795350629087714" />
Started really good today peaked at +$140 profit, then lost $110 of it leaving me with $30 profit.

Still better than a lost.

i will do a review and targets after i recieve the rakeback till then its casual boring play.

Roll is now at $330

Gl at the tables

Callpls aka RoyalfireRoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-23442933409062070472008-06-03T07:47:00.004+01:002008-06-03T19:33:54.302+01:00Break Even Session<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeGdZ9IBN3jY8KaExmVQUpOejnKMh-WMVKwVoJs0FNk0eOgXvLotxTD1SIrRa4jPeUvyNQ5HhZOTHr9uY34YbTxIYFyvmYmPDV5ozNd6AIOoxJ8wAXHz0Lxi-8VYcZ5NXhxoBMk_VGXI0/s320/beven.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207725229802037458" />
Played for about 40-45 mins heads up ($.25/.50). I have decided to end it here as i encountered my first losing session for a while. I didn't go busto but took a serious damage. Lost around £6K and decided to cash out the rest.

This adventure has served me well and i have made £11K in such a short peroid of time. So i am very happy. I am also expecting a good rakeback. Not sure if i will continue or cash it out immediately.

I didn't have the patience and made a silly move by playing whilst drunk. And penalised my self by cashing out the remainder.

The bankroll is on £0

Gl at the tables

Royalfire.RoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-44919990079110291262008-05-25T11:09:00.002+01:002008-05-25T11:53:18.242+01:00Luck vs Skill<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW29HNXPXqa0b8NMBwoGR5LKkrNk6W4cGQ1g4ZWwZ1OLixpHLxcfRynAFtXgTLtJFJILaLeN6gtZGNc7CkOmcRKk7fEQQjwMJruBu2x-eiHt2qbQ_P6fx17H8OApLVJbvA79dGCy09nSg/s320/Lucky+13+Utility+Mat.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204266806781275826" />
Following the recent success path i am on, few questions have been raised on the topic by my friends, Naturally they are puzzled by the exponential growth of the roll, and have asked me to come up with a logical explanation of how this sick heater could be anything but pure hard luck!

I haven't played enough days to complete a nice sample of data for statistical analysis, nor do i use Poker Tracker to gather that sort of info. ( although i am seriously thinking about it.)

So is it intuitive? lucky or else.. I have mentioned at the beginning of the blog that i would set up objectives on how i plan to grow my roll. Unfortunately i have never got down to document it as such, but rest assured i had the basics of what i wanted to do subconsciously. I say subconsciously because i have been playing this game for a long time without the BRM. I have read tons of books. articles and various blogs. I have tried to prove the odds of starting hand success vs each other along with other experiments to make me believe that this is nothing other than statistical game. And thats what poker is.

For long time I have played under rolled and it meant that my chips would eventually vanish in to air due to hitting negative side of swings and never be able to recover.

Things are a little different now. I am comfortably cushioned for about 50+ buyins at $2/5 around 120+ buyins at $1/2 and over rolled for lower levels . And the comfort zone means i can play with piece of mind which is very important and lets me concentrate purely on the game rather tan having to think about the financial side of things until cash out.

So was i lucky so far ? Yes i was lucky to hit a sick heater to reach the point i am at in such a short period. But i believe the skill part of my game now has been re-inforced by the stack ive accumulated and it means correct decisions will pay in the long run regardless of swings. (provided i don't go over budget and take shots at levels where i have few buy-ins)

My game is on the edge with 20 buyins at any level, and as that number increases i believe my style gets comfortable and results become visible. I don't multitable. I play maximum of 2 HU tables, and i fully concentrate on the game. I play for stacks rather than BB/100.

The game is a luck game in the short run but as the number of games increases the luck factor decreases and the results are reflected on the bankroll.

Yesterdays profit: 848 pounds,

The roll now stands at 14,597 pounds

The lucky streak continues....

Gl at the tables.

RoyalFireRoyalFirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00955169812067549588noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210086813730444316.post-22352174179878224002008-05-24T00:04:00.006+01:002008-05-24T12:24:42.938+01:00Still Running Hot!!!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Sz260Z5zLJWfK6i6KgkVkZLx7JtDyJWM3cfix7-4fkZDPuQmTcIbR8EBqTUzlh29UPKLYKEYpKo08ZUG9c3dt6kyD2DfWcjqXnMPU2WQduKRzqUh6ClUAW1IsoyWSnrFRWpsWDZcN9Q/s320/runninghot.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203715865556414114" />
Well, those of you expecting a stop to the good run i am on, will have to wait a little longer. :-) I have been playing straightforward ABC poker at levels between $.25/.50 - $2/5 and managed to increase the roll by £1247.
I don't know if i am extremely lucky or opposition is having trouble to adjust to my game. Being the true professional he didn't mind at all, despite me being up on him for the last two days.

Then i sat at another 5/10 only for loosegoose to come and drop me 2K before getting all back and some more. (in the region of $2K).

I checked my balance and i was sitting at apprx 6000 quid. I gave myself one more chance to recoup my losses, and sat at $10/20 Hu with a player called "LiuKangGG".

Within 30 mins turned my stack from 2000 dollars to peak at 9600 dollars before dropping down to 8600.

Confession : I must have come across as a hit and runner when i said i wanted to leave. The reception i got from him was not pleasing. But if i want to survive i guess i need to think of number 1. As the bankroll grows so will my table ethics.

Below are some of the big pots i played at this level. I need to focus! I need to concentrate! And I need to maintain my A game at all times whatever stakes im playing.

Leaked like Full on Tap today, donated few buy-ins at $1/2 and $2/5 mainly to corrosive, forunately for him and unfortunately for me he had made some awesome calls on me but it must have been visible that my game was not creative enough. My betting structure was crap and i was trying to buy every pot.

Then i sit at $5/10 again with bluecheek at 2 simultaneous tables -before i start i would like to make it clear that i think Bluecheek is a very good disciplined player who happens to be on a bad run.-

We must've played for about 4.5-5 hrs and manage to cover my losses for the day and even make a nice tidy profit of 310 quid.

The game started with me being extremely stupidly aggresive which resulted with few good calls by "BC" and that was enough to keep me honest for a while then things turned round and i was up. The chips were swinging from one to the other at high frequency for a long time before i hit my rush and stack him for a few times.

To be honest the match could've been either way had he hit the rush instead of me.

Too tired to post hands as we went through 100s of them. There were a few interesting ones but seriously i feel too drained to look for them.

The roll stands at 7861 quid.

Gl at the tables.

RoyalFire.

PS: that anonymous tip has actually got me thinking about my game and was the trigger for me to re-focus during the game. Fired up littlewoods poker and started to look for games. I sat at $1/2 reluctantly waiting for an opponent and a player called "Kilimaha" sits. This is interesting because i used to play him at $.25/$.50 heads up. And for some reason or another he has tagged me as a total fish. For him to move up his stakes to play me its weird. After insulting me and calling me names (lol bless him) i stack him within few minutes. Then everything went pear shaped. I had to pay his quads and fullhouse and he manages to win a mere 100 dollars of me then sits out like a little kid. Claiming how good he is and that im a total fish.

After he left i sit at 2 more $1/2 and 1 $2/5 heads up tables only to wait there on my own. So got bored and decided that rather than multi tabling i would sit at one $5/10 heads up and give it my full attention.

This is where things got interesting. Player called Bluecheek was sat withh $1000 dollars so i join him. Bless him after few minutes of domination and over aggression by which time i already was up apprx 1000 dollars without showdown mustve pissed him of and this hand happens.

Game #7109168664: Hold'em NL ($5/$10) - 2008/05/15 -
Table "Papadopoulos" Seat 2 is the button.
Seat 1: bluecheek ($1099 in chips)
Seat 2: royalfire ($2183 in chips)
royalfire: posts small blind $5
bluecheek: posts big blind $10
----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to royalfire [7d 8d]
royalfire: raises to $30
bluecheek: raises to $110
royalfire: calls $80
----- FLOP ----- [7h 5c 8s]
bluecheek: checks
royalfire: bets $222
bluecheek: raises to $989 and is all-in
royalfire: calls $767
----- TURN ----- [7h 5c 8s][Js]
----- RIVER ----- [7h 5c 8s Js][Th]
----- SHOW DOWN -----
bluecheek: shows [Qh 9h] (A Straight, Queen high)
royalfire: shows [7d 8d] (Two Pairs, Eights and Sevens, Jack high)
bluecheek collected $2197 from Main pot
----- SUMMARY -----
Total pot $2198 Main pot $2197 Rake $1
Board [7h 5c 8s Js Th]
Seat 1: bluecheek (big blind) showed [Qh 9h] and won ($2197) with A Straight, Queen high
Seat 2: royalfire (small blind) showed [7d 8d] and lost with Two Pairs, Eights and Sevens, Jack high

At this stage i knew i was in for a lot of value and was happy to see i get action this easily. :-)

As it turns out though he is a very nice guy and we had nice chat while playing.

to cut the long story short 3.5 hours of play turns in my favour and i manage to stack him several times to reach my peak of $7000. Reason i say its just in time is because i have been deluded by the large sums of profit i made in the last few days.
My sense of value has been deteriorated and consequently it has effected my game selection in a negative way. I started to jump into bigger games. 10/20 25/50 and the temptation was getting irresistible. Although my style i believe was actually where i wanted it to be i was bound to be swept by the variance as i am/was under rolled for those levels.

Luckily i have escaped through those limits without any damage and have managed to make a smallish profit of 100 quid.

This is a tough challenge and i recognize that lack of concentration or too much confidence can lead to the famous BUSTO!!! which i don't want ...

Other flattering news is that i have been refused heads up games by some of the players i used to idolize when i was playing smaller stakes. They claimed i was too good after playing 10 hands. LOOOLLLLLL

Sensible decision i guess.

Roll is now at £5113.96.

Gl at the Tables

Royalfire

PS: due to the nature of the heads up games i play, i feel its unnecessary to post hands.
